Imagine someone coming to you with an investment opportunity and says:

"Ok, so you're going to commit 5 or 6-figure sum for this one. If you don't have it, just borrow the money from a lender. Now, you won't be able to get rid of this debt even if you file for bankruptcy but don't worry about that. Ok, so this is a 4-year plan and by the end, you'll maybe get the job position, you've been going for, for all those 4 years.

If you don't, don't worry. You can work lower-paid jobs you were already qualified for without this investment until maybe you get the job position you really want. All while accruing interest on that loan you can't write off. Oh yeah, even if you get the job you wanted, it'll take about 10-15 years to pay off the original loan plus interest.

So, you in?"

If you didn't tell a child over and over for years that this is what smart people do, would anyone take this deal?

This is DEI condensed in a minute:

What the fuck...

I like how the 'added context' is that the white guy is an away fan and the black woman is a home fan, and that somehow makes it not a good analogy for DEI.

DEI is exactly that: Treating one group like they're on your team and the other group like they're on the opposing team.
