I had my kid read "Life is so Good" last summer.

Here's the story behind the meme:

First chapter highlights a lynching.

School is questioning if it's appropriate for seventh graders.

Not sure if that means they will change the lesson for the book, remove the book from the curriculum, or teach the book to and older grade level.

They showed us a documentary on Auschwitz when I was in grade 8. I don't know if it was the right decision to be honest.

It's an interesting discussion about when (and how) to introduce certain topics to kids and at what age.

My kid read the "Diary of A Young Girl" (Anne Frank) in 6th grade. I wasn't introduced to the book until 9th. I thanked my kid's teacher for having the kids read it and introducing the topic at a younger age than my generation was introduced to it.

After the kids read the book, they watched "The Boy With the Striped Pajamas".

I too remember a similar documentary that you watched regarding the Holocaust. But, I don't remember the grade I was in. But, it was certainly older that 6th grade
