Had the accidental fortune to have tea at a Turkish household. Bunch of young single dudes with no money between them taking a lot of pride in being proper hosts. Insanely hot tea in glass teacups and baklava. Got a history lesson about how Greek baklava wasn't real real baklava and that, sometimes, they would use real (green) nuts in their baklava to trick people into thinking that it was the real Turkish baklava but a Turk will know the difference. That talk seemed a bit silly at the time but I still remember those guys and the importance they gave to a simple act that turned it into a minor ritual.
