those are (mostly) adult shows, kiddo. Not here to kill the meme thread but a little empathy goes a long way. Try it sometime.

Well, sport, I grew up watching a lot of those shows. The majority were family shows perfectly suitable for children to watch.

Many tackled the issues facing black families at the time.

How many of these shows did you watch week in and week out?

literally every one you named, child. Regardless of what you think of representation—in any sense of the word, regardless of the decade—I suggest you look into it beyond your world of memes. Or at least, you know, try talking to a black person.

I fucking hate the unnecessary over abundance of the “representation” but I hope to christ you are not an adult and most definitely don’t have children.

I'm black and grew up in a predominantly black neighborhood. I watched Family Matters, Martin, Fresh Prince and Jamie Foxx Show during my childhood.

Off the top of my head, I also watched Hangin' With Mr. Cooper, The Parent 'Hood, Kenan & Kel, Cousin Skeeter, My Brother & Me (most people won't know this Nickelodeon show with a predominantly black cast, though), In The House (sometimes), Moesha (sometimes), The Wayans Bros., Static Shock and Waynehead.

Any black kid growing up in the 90s saw most, if not, all the shows I listed at least once. The thought of "I'm not being represented, help!" never once crossed my mind as a kid.

And I watched DBZ, Pokemon, Batman TAS, Spider-Man TAS, X-Men TAS, Doug, Rugrats, etc. and never once thought "damn, if only these shows had more black people, my life would somehow be better".

Hey now, I not only remember My Brother and Me but watched it too. Goo was the man.

No one was looking for congratulations from you. That post was to address that goofy argument about kids growing up, decades ago, with little to no representation.

I dunno what soft, weird black guy you talk to, but there was a lot of representation for kids growing up in the 80s/90s and even if there wasn't, black kids had no problem getting excited for shows that was predominantly white. We were able to enjoy good shows without being hyper-focused on race. So save that "have some empathy" garbage.
