What I want to say is almost worth the ban.

Almost.

What is even this? It was nice to forget about the culture war shit for a few days and return to absolute oasis bordering on utter utopia where the country's problems seemingly ceased to exist (and where they actually largely don't). The growing desire to return to the agrestic life of my upbringing is in overdrive now. There is no equivalent to the sort of skills it hones and values that it instills.

In the great global showdown between the farmer and the financier, ND looks to falls squarely on the side of the farmer - proving that being on that side doesn't necessarily mean living in communist squalor. I think my bitterness about America partially comes down to how much of the country I once assumed would side with the 'everyman' in that face-off, whereas in reality, the country seems to have been hijacked by lunatics. If I lived in North Dakota, I'd be very wary of external monied interests turning their attention to my state.
