Every meme thread since @Officer Rick got banned last October has at least been decent, IMO. Incidentally, I started creating them in November (6 of the last 8). I remember Ric used to be in a rush to start new ones in order to subject everybody to his left-wing TDS spam because if you have the TS on ignore then the thread disappears. I'm pretty sure @irish_thug actually had to step in and become the sole meme thread starter for a while because of that.

This was problematic because a lot of regulars had him on ignore and couldn't view the threads unless they were tagged. The membership decided in order to avoid this I would create them.

I've actually done this with the last three albeit with far less complaints, lolz. But aside from you de-modding yourself, that's mostly because v.81 had gotten up to like 3,850 replies or some crazy shit and @HockeyBjj instructed someone to create a new one. 1k posts feels too short because they eclipse that in like two weeks, so I've kinda just decided on my own that once they're approaching ~2k or so, it feels right for a fresh re-up.

Yeah the 1000 post limit is from the old software. Hasnt really been required for several years. It's mostly done for thread indexing.
