Man, Bret was fucking awesome. He was the face of the New Generation era which was undoubtedly weaker than any of the others pre-2008 (when Ruthless Aggression came to a close) but that doesn't detract from the sort of champ he was or his supreme technical wrestling abilities. It's a damn shame he left at the end of '97 because he was equally great as a heel and would've made the rest of Attitude era all that much better. It started in large part on account of his rivalry with SCSA. He was responsible tor putting over arguably the greatest superstar ever, and their Wrestlemania 13 match is the greatest of all-time.
