I'm almost full-blooded Celt, with only a tiny fraction of Norse DNA. I once asked a friend of mine, who has decades of experience in various Magical and Religious systems, why I was so drawn to Odin, Thor etc rather than the Gods and Goddesses of my own ancestors. He answered,

"A man doesn't choose his Gods. The Gods choose him".

I'm essentially the inverse of that. It's almost fucking laughable how little ethnic admixture there is in my genome, but it's largely down to the fact that my family didn't get off the boat and land in America until the mid 20th century. Our history here is only a mere couple generations deep.
