I'm almost full-blooded Celt, with only a tiny fraction of Norse DNA. I once asked a friend of mine, who has decades of experience in various Magical and Religious systems, why I was so drawn to Odin, Thor etc rather than the Gods and Goddesses of my own ancestors. He answered,

"A man doesn't choose his Gods. The Gods choose him".

I assume when you say Celt you mean Irish or Scottish? Celtic culture dominated most of central and western Europe at one time. Tom Rowsell (Survive the Jive) has really good videos on the subject.

I think for many pagans the Germanic gods feel more alive because there is so much more information available about them and the culture surrounding them is better understood (and is one that appeals to us in many ways).

Imo there is a very strong case to be made that there was a proto-Indo European religion. Celtic and Germanic paganism would in that regard be two branches of the same tree.
Sorry for stinking up the meme thread with that. It's a topic that I love.

Indeed. It is a damn shame, especially given how profoundly admired the bear and its image was, although Ruskies and Slav bros are kind of wanting for the iconography. To be clear: all of the indigenous ethnic religions of Europe have features worthy of appreciation IMO, but Norse paganism in particular is a treasure trove of symbolism and almost an embarrassment of aesthetic riches. I mean, just the Ægishjálmr, Gungnir, Mjölnir, Triskele (Óðrœrir, Boðn, Són), Valknut, Vegvisir and Yggdrasil alone is a KO1.

Looks like an article Jack would post and think he mic dropped.
I remember him trying to argue with me about the economics of capitalism and minimum wage and he desperately pivoted to talking about pollution, because he couldn't argue the main point, as if pollution is somehow unique to capitalism.

It's hilarious that so many leftists posters look to him as some intellectual when he doesn't even know how the world works.

he's a high functioning troll. Says obvious lame shit then argues using things like the Motte and Bailey fallacy, red herrings and being vague about why he's right and you're wrong etc. It's quite funny how ridic his positions are sometimes.
