Social Meme Thread V.76: Have you seen me?

It’s pretty crazy. I was a metal worker for many years. I know it doesn’t take much for solid metal to weaken by heat (IE Acetylene torch). A friend of mine on FB posted a link to a ‘study’ saying that fires didn’t cause WTC 7 to collapse. I really wanted to point out that this ‘study’ was funded by conspiracy theories.

I’m no CTer by any means but I started running cutting torches when I was fifteen and went on to be the machinist and support shop(welders, electricians) super for a Naval battalion. A cutting torch on the low end should be 4K+ with the normal cutting temp being 6,000 degrees.

I’m just saying that’s not a particularly strong argument for heat weakening steel. You’re just saying a tool that’s specifically made to cut steel…. Easily cuts steel. No offense.

Edit: Shit posted text in the meme thread again. Sorry mods

She's not even fuckable (sober)
Sounds like a typical story in an area where woke culture is creeping in.

-White people bend over backwards to pander to a miserable person to prove they're not racist
-Miserable person likes the attention/recognition but doesn't want to stop pretending to be oppressed
-Miserable person turns around and calls the white people racist anyway
-Rinse and repeat because the white people love being treated like garbage by miserable minorities, but at the same time hate the minorities who can speak and think for themselves

If you have experience with torches you will know that the metal isn’t instantly heated to the same operating temperature as the torch. Steel bends (IE loses strength) way before it melts. Torches are also commonly used to heat metal and not only used to cut. The majority of my torch use (retired union metal worker) is heating to bend. And that temperature is way below melting point.

Yes, I am aware of and agree with all of that. I’m just saying that there are very few fires on earth, especially of size, that can reach a cutting torches temperature or even 80% of it for sustained periods.

I’m not in anyway shape or form trying to say intense heat cannot weaken steel to failure. I’m saying that a cutting torch is not a good example.

I think we can agree on that?

If I just left off the word cutting torch and I said I bend metal with fire would that help? Because torches can be dialed up and down to a very large degree. I can make it run 4000 degrees or I can make it match hot. In the end, steel bends well before it melts which is why the buildings collapsed.

Okay so, all fires are equal regardless of air and fuel source. No point in continuing down this road my dude. Safe travels.
