I actually support this hype but I'd rather it facilitated hatred than fear and a defeatist attitude which I'd of thought was anathema to right-wing values. I'm certainly no conservative but cut-throat civic, economic, industrial and technological nationalism is encoded in my DNA, it drips from my pores. I am not scared of a fucking little monkey country which is neither food secure nor energy independent, doesn't possess the proprietary know-how or capital assets to produce the industrial technology that makes the modern world run and is geographically boxed in by regional neighbors whom it grows increasingly hostile towards by the day. The logistics of Total War are quite lopsided.

Even when they've all but been handed intellectual property through short sighted, small profit driven bullshit JVs, the Chinese display a level of ineptitude that is almost eye-wateringly laughable. Au contraire, what the CCP does intersects with my primary interest in life outside of personal finances and social circle, and the primary interest is connected to my personal finances. I pay attention practically by the hour and we are currently witnessing the most significant build-up of heavy industry and advanced manufacturing in the history of the United States. Those corporations are moving practically of their own volition and own sake to treat China as nothing more than an opium addict.
