It's funny how people keep believing this was an insurrection. The National Guard was slow to get there, the Capitol police were severely outnumbered and Republicans are the ones you most expect to be armed.

You're focusing on the response of the lawmakers rather than what the supposed insurrectionists did. If they wanted an insurrection, they would have come armed (I'm sure 90%+ of them were pro-gun) and would have at least taken someone hostage. They had plenty of time before the National Guard showed up.
