It's backward logic. It's not so much that I value my dog or my stuff more than someone's life ...its that hypothetical bad guy values my dog and my stuff more than his life. I'd be perfectly happy to never be robbed again or get in a shootout in my house. I've had a puppy stolen that shit is super not cool and i most definitely would have put a stop to that if I was home. The laws on dog knapping should read if you are caught doing that whatever said dog owner does to you should be legal.

I have livestock and multiple large dogs to protest said livestock. I view anyone messing with my animals as a cattle rustler.
