"The way DDP had built himself up to that point, the way he had won his fights and the way his fights went, and then going up against Chimaev.
And you know, as dominant as Chimaev has been through his run it's like, well, you can't pick against Chimaev ever again. I just can't see a scenario
where Chimaev is gonna fight someone where I would pick against him, unless it was an actual heavyweight and not somebody moving up from LHW.
And even then, I'd probably pick Chimaev *laughs*."

"I would never pick against him at this point. Nothing is impossible, people can get caught in fights all the time. And this is not to disparrage anyone
else in the division or like, you know, anyone can have their night, man. It doesn't always matter who the actual better fighter is, it matters who's the
better fighter on that night. But you know, I don't know how you pick against somebody who's undefeated and been that dominant. When you gotta
nitpick and look at it like 'well, was he as dominant in each win?' That's a whole other category of thing where you're really splitting hairs to like try and
find a way that the guy could possibly lose. So yeah, I just don't see that happening anytime soon."

Of course he's gonna say that after he got blasted into Bolivia by Khamzat in his only clean KO in the UFC, but most of us know that Usman was likely a round or two away from beating Khamzat. Khamzat still has holes in his game but let's hope he's improving and staying more active

Usman and Gilbert made him look mortal, don't forget that

Khamzat would make Aspinall look like a clown at HW unless Tom landed the big shot, and good luck with that with someone that shoots in as fast as Chimaev. I know most of you will somehow think this is Hyperbole despite DECADES of proof that great wrestlers from MW and LHW can manhandle HWs that don't have great TDD.

If Bader and King Mo can do it, why not Khamzat. Sure Bader is bigger (and less skilled) but Mo isn't.

Can Khamzat beat prime Jones/Stipe/Cain/Carwin etc? No of course not.

Most of us also know Usman was the custom made nightmare match up for him and that threat is over

To be fair, Meerschaert’s taken a lot of shots to the head.

I'm curious to see what HW power would do to a guy who got faceplanted by a LW

HW? Try LHW, he wouldn't be able to take the strikes from LHWs. Weight classes exist for a reason. Like you said, he got dropped and had issues handling the power of a Gilbert Burns. Khamzat is a perfect MW, a big WW but not a LHW or even close to HW.

Aspinall the 265lbs Giga Chad would be look like a clown to a guy that was rocked by Gilbert Burns?

Refer to what GM3 said...

"When you gotta nitpick and look at it like 'well, was he as dominant in each win?' That's a whole other category of thing where you're really splitting hairs to like try and find a way that the guy could possibly lose."
Same thing was done to Khabib. Masturbating for years arguing over point scoring criteria in the Tibau fight = concedes you don't have any actual ammo and this is the best you got

When your biggest attack point against Khamzat is pointing out he beat two of the top 3 WWs of the last era but that those wins were more competitive... yeah you're conceding the overall level of dominance we're watching

Khamzat fought a kickboxing match against Burns. If he does that against Aspinall, yes he will fucking die in the cage, but he won't, he will grapple. People used your same argument with DDP and how did that turn out...

But yes I'm talking about Tom the 260 lb man that got ragdolled by a 225 lb skilled grappler. Sure Tom has likely improved since then but Stuart Austin and Khamzat are also not in the same universe.

Agreed, Aspinall is a classical bum.

If his game carries over to heavyweight like it did middleweight... I don't see him losing to many... if anybody.

at heavyweight he'd get tired even faster (from his own weight and his opponent's weight) and then it's a KO for the other guy at the top 5

I mean we've also seen Blaydes get owned by Almeida then bonked him once and he went out. It is interesting how well wrestlers usually do across weight classes. HW today is especially thin. Also no HW besides Jones has really "proven" wrestling.

Not even a 5-rounder with 22 min control time vs Dricus can kill the 0-cardio-myth.
