I made a thread a while ago about the meaning of Asian characters in fighters' tattoos, but I have to admit I was never able to figure out what Jon's meant. Today someone dug up that old thread and asked, and it inspired me to put in the effort to finally figure it out!
Anyone know what Jones is?

To guide, this is a really old way of writing it
術 Art or skill, the "su" in "jiujitsu"

It means Gaidojutsu, the martial art that Greg Jackson came up with. Gaido is how Japanese would pronounce "guide".

First character = douche
second character= nozzle

I am Chinese and, beyond what Greg Jackson has invented, the two words doesn't mean anything put together.

㝊 is the simbol for a woman who carries a baby in her womb, you can see the similarities.
術, on the other hand, refers to a horse or another animal or object that serves as a mean of transportation.
The fact that 術 comes second means its owner won't come back in case it crosses 㝊's path.
I hope it helps to make things clearer.

Americans getting oriental characters= cringe.

It's interesting that I haven't seen any other fighter from Jackson-Wink with this tattooed on their body. Maybe they all just have it tattooed on their balls, but Jon's were too small.

Are they Chinese kanji? Thought they were Japanese due to the Jiujitsu link?

No, it just makes me realize how fucking stupid the chinese language is.
