Its not normal. Guessing that was a while ago, most Drs don’t like to write scripts for it unless its serious pain. When I had mine pulled over 20 years ago they just have me Tylenol 3.

If you have to wait over a month for a dentist, find a new dentist. Thats not acceptable. Surely they have a referral dentist for emergencies?

Yea this was about 8 years ago now. Not a lot of dentist do it anymore but if you shop around you can find someone. Ibuprofen seems to be the go to and then they say take Tylenol on top of it. I had one lady told me that combining the two is just like taking a Vicodin. I just laughed and said "Respectfully, no it's not."

Got all mine pulled in one go. They told me the same, but I didn't really need anything. Most of the discomfort/pain was when they cracked the teeth to pull them.

Did you actually experience any real pain afterwards?

Got all 4 pulled at age 45.

Was prescribed some codeine, and told to take them before the freezing wore off. I never did. Took two extra Advil and then the next day 2 more and that was it. Never had much pain at all.

Get it pulled ASAP I wouldn't wait. My wife is getting hers pulled tomorrow fucking drug addicts made it so the dentist wont even give her Vicodin now.

Also if you can find someone who puts you down. I've seen some dentist just try to numb the area and pull it. I've done it that way and I didn't feel pain but mentally it's not cool. The next two I got pulled I specifically found someone who puts me under and it was a dream. Also make sure they prescribe Vicodin for the pain. Tell them you aren't going to suffer because drug addicts don't know how to control themselves.

I got all 4 removed without sedation (not at the same time mind you) and the upper ones were no problem. If you go to a good dentist it should not be a big problem. I would not go for sedation unless the tooth is really twisted and requires a lot of work.

The lower ones required a lot of effort, and I had bone spurs grow in their place after that that had to be removed - one two times, another three! (I have bones only slightly inferior to Wolverine, doc did a scan, they are denser and stronger than normal and grow really fast, I still have densitometry readings above required levels for healthy 18 year olds, and I am 35).

Lol at Vicodin for wisdom teeth removal. They didn’t even knock me out, pulled all 4 and gave me some ibuprofen. I had my friend drive me home then a couple hours later I drove to go buy some ramen.

I had mine taken out 20 years ago. The procedure itself wasn’t too bad because they numbed me up really good. The 2-3 days after kinda suck though.

I had that issue on one of the bottom wisdom teeth. It was too much. Got it out ASAP.

To save the next/closest molar the dentist had to drill off half of the wisdom tooth itself thru the gums before extracting it. A bloody bloody affair.

They had stayed below the gums until that point and then suddenly started to surface and i was told i did not have room for them to come fully in, so they had to come out.

If they are impacted, definitely should get them out ASAP instead of waiting.

I have all four of mine still, but I'm also heavy with them there Neanderthal genetics.

I had a couple pulled. They told me to go to Walgreens and get Tylenol.

They told me if you combine acetaminophen and Ibuprofen it's as good as Vicodin etc .
Id cook some up and sling it to some junkies to see but feel it's a no win situation.

Get some clove oil .
You can get one of these kits for under $10 and they do a pretty good job of numbing the pain .

(I had 4 impacted teeth at one point and 2 started to emerge in my 30s for some reason they actually damaged other teeth.)

Ive had the other side pulled with a local numbing as well so no big deal for me. I don’t remember being in much pain afterwards but maybe this one will be different
