*** 'McGregor Forever' - Netflix Documentary Discussion Mega Thread ***

Conor should know a thing or two about retiring, he has retired a good 3 times.

Conor, "it will happen, I don't believe it". Not everyone's money hungry, greedy, and vain.

Meh, he's very hateable though.
Could it have anything to do with your username?

Yeah no he's a chode lol
But I still definitely respect the martial artist and his accomplishments
Just like I don't like what khabib stands for whatsoever personally but I can separate the person from the athlete. I think a ton of people get way too invested in personalities.

Conor acting like he wants that smoke again after Khabib retired, is the same energy as Jones saying Ngannou's name now that he's tied up in a PFL contract and they can't fight, after ducking him for 3 years of his prime.
Francis literally admitted he turned down the Jones fight and 8 million dollars

No doubt, I see your point. He's entertaining when in the cage, but he's annoying AF though outside of it, and that overshadows the good part for me. It's hard for me to like a guy when they're always acting like a damn goober Lol

At the end of the day, khabib was too afraid of losing.

retired in his prime and never really cemented his legacy as one of the best.

If he had defended a few more times and moved up for another title, he might be spoken about in the same reverence as a fedor or even anderson silva. Sadly no.

he needed more than a few title defenses. Anderson and Fedor dominated their divisions for 10 yrs.

Chandler wont get past Conor
too scared to lose?

he fought everyone dana put in front of him lol. I remember all the talk about how Oliveira / Chandler were the guys that would take it to him lmao. Now everyone is on the volk train because he won 20 seconds of a 25 minute fight.

Alot of people can't accept the fact that Khabib retired. It just seemed too early.

as a fan, it’s disappointing. Even though Islam is like his continuation, it’s just not the same. The styles are similar, but Khabib is pretty damn unique. It sucks to see a guy retire in their prime. I mean, the guy retired after looking better than ever. As a fan, I wanted to see how much better he can get. I accept that he retired. I’m just disappointed.

the reasoning also sucks. “My mom told me to retire.” Lmao. Like, bro, i get that your dad died. I know that’s hard. But you’re still an mma genius. Your mom told you to retire? Wtf? You’re a grown ass man. Tell your mom that you’re gonna do what you want. Lmao. Idk, must be some Muslim or Dagestani culture that I don’t understand. But that retirement reason was lame as fuck to me. Lmao. But again, I’m just speaking from a fan’s perspective.
