This fight would only be about money and spectacle, I think we'd all agree on this. If McGregor couldn't beat a guy he labeled flat-footed and a plodder, does anyone seriously think he has a chance? Of course not. Which brings me to this: This is all about Mayweather's ego. We know Floyd loves money. But in my opinion, I think it bothers him that no one talks about him much since his retirement. He's not missed like Ali, Tyson, or even Roy Jones. We can only speculate if he's in trouble money-wise but I haven't read anything of the sort. And lastly, it's his chance to embarrass the UFC and MMA in general by schooling its "biggest star". He couldn't challenge Rousey when she kept opening her mouth because he knew he'd catch hell for wanting to punch a woman. But with McGregor now being the big draw, he can now try to fight him and the brag about how MMA fighters are inferior. I don't blame Conor for capitalizing on this rumor, but I think its sad that Floyd would consider an MMA fighter, with no chance to beat him, as a possible opponent.
