You guys don't understand or just choose to ignore the history of Britain if you believe his statement to be false. Historically there has always been terror attacks and threats in the UK by various groups. From the 'Gun-powder plot' in the 1600's to the real IRA attacks as recent as 2001. So i'm confused by the butt hurt? Right now the threat is from Islamic extremists. In maybe 10 years it will be from another group.

Not all major cities suffer from terrorist attacks, why should London?

In the last 21 years Tokyo has had domestic terrorism but no Islamic terrorism. Now you might say one attack in 20 years proves you point but it also proves mine. They have muslims and mosques and they have terrorism...but they've never had muslim terrorism.

If you're taking a short view on history and limiting it the last 20 years then Islamic based terrorism is the predominant form we're seeing. But if you're view on history is that short then it's not very complete either.

Islamic extremism/terrorism has existed for 1400 years - as long as Islam has existed for. A thousand years ago, had explosives existed, Muslims would've been blowing themselves up back then too. Please stop.

Someone else said it bluntly & plainly in this thread already: he's literally trying to get us to accept terrorism as normal. After the Nice attack (I think it was the Nice attack, I can't keep up with all the religion of peace attacks lately), the Prime Minister of France said that people 'just have to get used to terrorist attacks now'. That is where we're at in Western civilization today. Western leaders are actively trying to brainwash the people they're supposed to be protecting into accepting mass murder as 'the new norm'. Brain child?..ok... Well I personally dont think you can treat 2 different threats in the same way. There are different factors as to why these groups exist. There is no "1 size fits all" solution. What I do believe is that there is not much they can do as many of these attacks by so called Islamic extremists are so random and unpredictable.

Haha not at all. You're clutching at straws here. I'm supprised you haven't criticised my grammar yet. There is no 1 size fits all solution to any kind of terrorism, so with each type of threat, each must be dealt with in a way that best suits the threat. The IRA and Islamic terrorism are the 2 prominent ones that I can think of in the UK so I used them to compare. My initial point was that the Mayor had a point because terrorism is not new to the UK. I dont see how any of what I have said contradicts this point and its my guess that you can't show how anything I have said contradicts this point either. Nice try though
