May have broken ankle. Bros, cheer me up

Dont lie - you're in the Doc's office to start your Transition. Broken Ankle = code for sex change.

Ankle injuries suck. I feel your pain. I even had gout in my ankle once, at like 18.

Hopefully it’s not too bad. Good luck.

Update:

Doc says it's not broken. Or actually it's not a doc, but a physician's assistant. So maybe she's wrong because I'm pretty sure I heard a pop.

But whatever, I'm choosing to believe her because it just makes me happy.

If it really is just a bad sprain then I guess I'll be on my feet in no time.

Wow. Last time I blow a dude without a doctors note

I got a really bad sprain. it took me about 3 months to walk normally on a flat surface. Steps were awful. Im at 5 months now and the ankle is still very stiff esp when i wake up un the morning, but i can walk fine now and even run for short periods. I do have a feeling tho that if i ever feel 100 pct normal from this shit it could take a whole fucking year. Fuck ankle tears in the ass. I take cabs alot more now, after going out boozing,i learned my fucking lesson.

As somebody who has actually broken an ankle, anybody saying they got back on their bike and ride home or walked on it after the injury is a fucking liar or a fucking pussy who thinks twisting an ankle is the same as breaking one.

When I broke mine my foot was dangling off the side, it took 2 surgeries and 6 months on crutches and a wheelchair to just get to where I could limp around again. Finally after a year of walking again I’m feeling normal but I probably won’t run any more.

Well there are different degrees of breaks. I broke a bone in my foot years ago and didn't go to the doctor for a week because I didn't think it was broken, and I kept walking on it. So at the time where I crashed my dirt bike, I thought this was that kind of situation.

Yet there are people that break other foot bones that require surgery. Just depends on the break.

Sounds like yours was the worst kind. How did you break it?

Rode my dirt bike up a trail, crashed, and had to ride out through some gnarly shit with a bum ankle, which most likely injured it further.

Now I'm in the waiting room to see a doctor.

I hate not being able to walk. I broke my foot in the past and using crutches made that period one of the worst in my life.

Also I'm old. So I know my bones won't heal fast or right. Basically one you hit 40 then your injuries will always nag even after they heal.

I'm pretty bummed. Maybe you guys can share stories of your shitty lives so I can feel great that at least I'm not you.

This cheered me up when my dad died

Mods,

Can you just merge this with the Gymnastic Broken Legs Injury.

This sounds just as traumatic of an ordeal...

Thanks.

I gave up the dirt bikes years ago after some hard crashes, when I got the wind knocked out of me at age 42, I thought I was dying.

Oh sanp bro. Ankle is like one of the hardst things to ever get back to normal use.

Good news that it’s not broken, but take some advice from someone who has badly sprained both ankles in the past and rehab that shit properly. Don’t just go to the pub, then hobble around for the following weeks until it stops hurting...
