How much pressure is , and was on Max to take the fight? We have heard Dana before mouthing off about fighters turning down fights Blah Blah Blah...Do you think Max felt the pressure to take the fight? Negative backlash and bullshit if he refused ? Or do you think Max was pumped for the opportunity?

I think Max really wants this fight. It came somewhat at a bad time but he probably sees it as a huge opportunity.

He seemed pretty confident at the press conference and excited for the fight. I think he just stepped up. Thank God too. This is the first event I've taken off of work for since Conor/Aldo. Just gotta worry about Khabib making weight now

Yea, a lot of guys say that but some really do step up like Cerrone, and even Bisping....I hope Max is up for the challenge..

He is a true fighter and goes even beyond that definition. A few days notice and steps in to face a guy people in his division dont wanna fight him, hell even Woodley says he wouldnt want to fight him, respect to Max, no matter how lopsided this fight may turn out i wont respect him less i will see him still as the warrior he is. I have a hard time seeing how he can win though, he is on a great streak and is a complete MMA Fighter but he has not that one punch ko power to make this fight dangerous.

My impression is that Max is super motivated to bring a UFC event to Hawaii, and will do most anything to create a buzz/impress Dana enough to make it a realistic future option.

Khabib, contrary to what he likes to imagine, is not the only one fighting for his legacy and hoping to place his homeland, Dagestan, firmly on the MMA world map and bring a UFC event to Russia.

Max is motivated by the same sort of pride in his culture and homeland.
