I think that the first fight was very close, even if the judges scored all rounds toward Volk, as Judges seldom make a lot of mistake, and don't think that he was salty. The fight was boring, and he indeed wasn't hurt, as nobody really hurt anybody in that fight.

As a Pom, I could hardly respect Australia as a nation of sporting prowess any more than I do.

Max clearly won the fight. Bad decision by the judges. 70% of media and public agree.
Max won the first two rounds DOMINANTLY and Volk didn’t win any rounds dominantly. Dominantly won rounds weigh heavier than close rounds, which both 3rd & 4th rounds of the fight were close with Max taking 3 and Volk taking 4. Then Volk won 5 clearly but not dominantly.
Max won the fight. Point blank. Volk is not the champ.

Huh... I guess i got wrong information. It was close in either case. It still stands true that point system is made for guy like Alex to win, even do he doesn't do much in rounds. You just can't be scoring round 1 and 3 the same but it is so easy with scoring system as it is. So many things are reduced just to fit 10-9 criteria.

I had Max winning the rematch but I'm not too upset about it. It was close enough for Volk to win, but tbh, the rematch shouldn't have happened right away anyway.

The first fight was clearly for Volk without any sort of controversy and the only reason Max got an immediate rematch was because he was a fan favorite.

This, you have to beat the champ twice bullshit is getting annoying. Max should have had to fight Zabit or Kattar, or someone in the first place before a rematch.
