Max Holloway would school Conor in a rematch

A lot of fighters would dismantle Conor in a rematch - Max, Aldo, etc.

Conor is washed up. He's easy pickings for any fighter. I honestly don't think he'd beat anyone in the top 10 of LW division. His best chance would be against Tony who is equally as washed up but I'd lean towards Tony simply because Conor will never be the same after that broken leg.
Yep, Tony may be washed but he still has heart. Conman has nootin

Conor has a different game than Dustin. I’d favour Conor, he beat Nate in a five rounder at 170 who is stylistically similar to Max.

Conor barely beat Nate in the rematch and literally jogged away to survive. Nate also let’s his opponents off the hook by not cutting off the ring or hurrying on the feet, as with Leon.

Holloway has more craft than Nate, he would finish Conor in a 5 rounder.

At 155? Holloway didn’t look great against Poirer at that weight.

He was a weight class smaller and took him all 5 rounds inflicting his fair share of damage on Poirier. To a man, he overachieved. Pound for pound Max pisses all over Dustin. Max is one of the greatest to ever do it.

Max is tailor made for conor. Max would just stand and play right into conors hands. Max is not the better boxer and he doesnt have much power. Only way max will win is if it goes beyond 3 rds

I want to see Max step up to 155 while hes still a great fighter . There were good things to take from Poirier fight but this would be a different deal where lightweight would be his home and his approach to fights would become routine... and it's not like he was chased from 145. I think it's a healthy move given his current frame.

Oh- and he vanquishes 2021 Conor .

Lol. Hilarious.

I agree with OP.

Max didn't do terrible versus Conor in their first fight. He was clearly weak on experience, but was taking the punches. I even think Max would have beat Conor at LW if he had fought him instead of Dustin.

Max has plenty of chances in this fight, although unlike Dustin who has plenty of power for immediate shock KO/TKOs, Max needs to pile on a lot more hits to have the same effect.

So Conor could actually have no issues withstanding any of Holloway's hits. Could be a bigger problem if Conor realizes mid-match that he can risk his defense and not end up getting KO'd in return.

Also Max is more or less going to be standing in the fight instead of getting it down to the ground, so the unpredictability of whether he's gonna take it to the ground or stand and bang goes out the window.

Max got amazing, incredible volume, great boxing technique, solid chin, etc. how does Conrat win in a rematch? He has no path to victory now because he doesn't even have one punch knockout power and he doesn't move nor have the reflexes he did when they first fought so Max is gonna jab his face off for 5 whole rounds, gas him out and finish him.

If Coner doesn’t ktfo Max early, he eats strawberrie pie for 15-20 minutes. And it’s pretty difficult to turn Max’s lights out.

Both Poirier and Max had more UFC experience than Conor. Dustin was ranked top 5. Max and Conor will only fight once and the world will remember how prime Conor clowned him. Not sure what point you’re making wanting to see Max fight an alcoholic, mentally ill, 33 year old Conor at this point lmao

That's a really bad stylistic matchup for Conor now. Max has improved more since their first fight. Conor really has to put him away early, which I highly doubt he can do against Max.

Max probably finishes him in the later rounds in a typical Max Holloway fashion.

Did Max ever called out to this fight to happen again?

Seeing how long ago it was, how much Max improved and all, why didn't he push for a fight with Conor?

Max had less than 3 years fighting experience at that point. He was obviously much less skilled, given he went to split decision against Leonard Garcia around the same time. Compare how he fights now to then.

Holloway's big problem against Conor is the 5-inch reach disadvantage. Holloway has the same reach as Eddie Alvarez -- 69 inches.

When Conor fought guys with such short reaches, he focused on managing distance. He was a master at staying just outside the punching range of fighters with short reaches, then using his significantly longer reach and impressive accuracy to tag his opponent over and over again with the left hand.

I think Conor is overrated, but he really shines against opponents over whom he has a big reach advantage.
