elbowsLook, guys...either Dooostin is a GREAT fighter or hes not.
Either Khabib is unbeatable or hes not.
Make up your minds because if the 2 above statements are true, theres no shame in Conor losing to both.
Conor is still one of the most dangerous fighters in the UFC and I doubt Max has the power to hurt him any more than Nate did in the 2nd fight.
I agree, but I also think Max is used to fighting guys with a longer reach than him—even though Conor's arm-reach would be one of the longest ones he's fought. He's developed a style more towards fighting guys with a longer reach.Holloway's big problem against Conor is the 5-inch reach disadvantage. Holloway has the same reach as Eddie Alvarez -- 69 inches.
When Conor fought guys with such short reaches, he focused on managing distance. He was a master at staying just outside the punching range of fighters with short reaches, then using his significantly longer reach and impressive accuracy to tag his opponent over and over again with the left hand.
I think Conor is overrated, but he really shines against opponents over whom he has a big reach advantage.
Max had less than 3 years fighting experience at that point. He was obviously much less skilled, given he went to split decision against Leonard Garcia around the same time. Compare how he fights now to then.
what’s your point? That they peaked at different times? That’s obvious.
I belive you said ever....5 years ago. That win is about as relevant as Cerrone's welterweight win streak.
This.Conor went five with Dustin? I know Max did. He even had Dustin hurt at one point and won two rounds.
If Max had bulked up properly and not just decided to not cut as much weight, as well with his new found movement, kicks and defense, he could possibly beat Dustin.
I know he would beat the shit out of Conor though.
1 and a half rounderConor barely beat Nate in the rematch and literally jogged away to survive. Nate also let’s his opponents off the hook by not cutting off the ring or hurrying on the feet, as with Leon.
Holloway has more craft than Nate, he would finish Conor in a 5 rounder.
Survive early and get destroyed shortly afterHolloway lasted 5 rounds and had over 150 significant strikes versus Dustin. Conor would win early and get destroyed late.
You clowned yourself with this postBoth Poirier and Max had more UFC experience than Conor. Dustin was ranked top 5. Max and Conor will only fight once and the world will remember how prime Conor clowned him. Not sure what point you’re making wanting to see Max fight an alcoholic, mentally ill, 33 year old Conor at this point lmao
nasty matchup, conor wouldn't take it, it would be the definitive end of his careerLike Poirier, Holloway lost to Conor early on in his career and has leveled up considerably since then. Is there any doubt he would beat Conor now? He seems like a horrific style matchup. Best chin in mma which Conor couldn't crack in his prime. Elite boxing, and endless cardio. I could see Conor winning the first round, maybe even two, but Max would drown him after that point and get the TKO. I don't think Conor has the heart to withstand getting his face boxed up after he gets tired.
He beat him in the sense that he survived.Conor has a different game than Dustin. I’d favour Conor, he beat Nate in a five rounder at 170 who is stylistically similar to Max.
