Media Max Holloway calls out Justin Gaethje

Gaethje is too slow and too easy.

Holloway beats him to the punch, beats Gaethje in volume, and breaks him over time.

Dustin Poirier hurt Holloway, it's true — but Dustin has bigger/better arms and more reach.

Gaethje is slower and dumber. Forget the kick that beat Dustin — that doesn't happen with Holloway.

Height, speed, pressure, and volume favor Holloway.

WAR Max.

Max needs to properly bulk up to LW instead of just not cutting as much weight
Dilemma kicks in. Bulk up to be a legit lw or just cut enough weight so he could still make fw and catch a now vulnerable (probably)Volkanovski slipping.

Let's not pretend that wasn't a super competitive fight against a prime Poirier. A fight in which it didn't even look like Holloway put on the proper weight for.

I would definitely favor Gaethje but Holloway shouldn't be counted out as some scrub who's going to get finished in one round.
It wasnt super competitive at all lol!

Max got eaten up in that fight even though he outlanded Poirier the power difference was huge, the shots Max landed Poirier walked through and the ones Dustin landed were stopping any momentum Max tried to get. As a max fan it was hard watch, but that fight imo was not close at all, Poirier clearly did far more damage and controlled it.

Max wants that BMF champion pay.

I sure hope he's been smart with his money these last dozen or so years.

Weight classes exist for a reason.. this has been done a million times in combat sports.

And no it doesn't favor the smaller guy. Unless he has way more talent than the bigger guy he is fighting. And that's not the case in that fight
Done a million times?

Give me 10 examples.

Dustin came from featherweight, he’s just more talented than Max, it’s not because he’s bigger by 10lbs.
10 pounds is a lot for guys that size; have you noticed how weight classes are shorter the smaller you get? There is one man that can beat Max at FW, and that has been true for a long time. There are multiple guys that can beat Max at LW, and the weight difference actually is not a coincidence. Size matters and denying that defies all reason.

If Max takes the proper time to prepare for lightweight he could be a force.

If he comes with the flab he's going to have a rough night.

People talk about size like if Justin was a big LW. He is probably one of the lighter guys on fight night at 155lbs.

You all suck and Gaethje would really hurt Holloway

I don't love it, but I don't hate it either. Max is definitely a BMF without question. Would watch.

Didn’t he have Dustin hurt at one point? I could be misremembering.

He was teeing off on Dustin late but it was more potter patter volume against a gassed Dustin in round 4 or 5. He wasn't actually hurt.
