Matt Riddle: The UFC hates people who Smoke Weed!!!

Good.

I hate burnouts that smoke weed too.

This guy is irrelevant and not one fuck was given that he got canned.

I'm don't care for Riddle at all and I'm kind of happy he was cut (as bad as that it on my part) but he is hardly a "burnout".

Rogan aint paid to be an entertaining fighter but to be entertaining announcer. Weed may open himself more to do that. Weed obviously makes Riddle more fucked up during training camp he has no energy to train for striking but to lie on a rubber doll in corner.

It looks like Matt Riddle might already have a new home:

It looks like he has something in the works to fight for Warfare MMA 9 card for the
WFC middleweight title against Nissen Osterneck.

This would happen June 21st at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach, SC

"I quit three weeks before my fight and this is what works for me."

Obviously not, if you failed a test twice.

You don't know how long weed stays in your system if you are a daily smoker, I take it? Stays up to 30 days.

Matt Riddle is making a stand. Forget these states that waste their time and money testing for weed.
South Carolina doesn't care and doesn't test for weed.

It's there job, its there profession. Like someone mention in the real world you fail a drug test your fired. The weed must be messing his brain up man.

I dont agree with the whole villianizing of pot smokers, and I dont think the drug does anything for these individuals to give them an advantage, as a musician (and just generally as a person) I enjoy the drug to be true.

That said, as an illegal substance by this company, its not allowed, regardless of its reasons, its something that is not permitted, and its not a debate as to why, and how things should change. It's against the rules, black and white.

Maybe it will be legalized one day, maybe not, but until then, just dont do it and expect to work in the UFC without issue.

Bob Marley avatar

They liked Diaz enough to give him a title shot

It is astonishing that there is so much discussion regarding this.

He signed a contract stating he would not smoke weed.
He did.
Contract was followed - he was fired.

Why is there confusion?

I can't sort through all 14 pages to find this, but isn't it a case of the UFC enforcing failed test results? They don't specifically have it in for weed smokers, they have an issue with anyone who fails a test for a banned substance? Or am I off base?

Excuses excuses.

He knew it was considered a banned substance and he would rather risk his job and 420 blaze it instead of just playing it safe.

Marijuana metabolites can stay in your system for 30+ days. It's not like Riddle hasn't done this before, he stayed employed with the UFC for 5 years. Unless he played it really safe and quit a month or more before a fight it was only a matter of time before he got caught repeatedly, just ask Nick Daiz.

Of course he is to blame for breaking a rule and he shouldn't be so oblivious. Yet he's talking as if the UFC is entirely to blame but really the rule system is just flawed. They let guys get away with TRT and other drugs which actually enhance performance, unlike inactive metabolites. The entire concept behind testing fighters for Marijuana is silly. Unless they're going into a fight directly after smoking there is no more carry over benefits than you would get from caffeine.

Riddle should be mad at all the ignorant assholes that just swallow every rule they're given. The athletic commisions are really inconsistant with their protocols and they're probably just happy to catch any offender they can. One needs to look no further than a sport like baseball where the truth of PED's becomes more apparent everyday. There's no way anyone will convince me that the regulation of drugs in professional sports is in anyway fair. It seems more like a roll of the dice than anything.

He just figured that out after being released and with a name like Riddle. :icon_chee

I still think it's crazy that some people are allowed to take TRT but somebody else can't smoke some weed.
