Matt Riddle: The UFC hates people who Smoke Weed!!!

Red Forman-"It's His Own Dumbass Fault" yea I still watch re runs of That 70's Show from time to time.

Yeah, the UFC doesn't hate weed smokers, they hate wrestlers. The weed was just an excuse to be able to cut a wrestler after a win. If you want to stay employed with the UFC, you better get good at striking.

At some point, you need to understand that it doesn't matter what you think.

The rules are the rules. If you can quit for three weeks, you can quit forever. What's more important, your weed or your job? Seems like it's costing him a fair amount of money to get high.

The frustrating thing is that they don't even have to quit forever. Quit at the start of camp, you'll be clean by the time its fight time. After your fight, go right back to what makes you happy until youve got to start a camp again.

Its really not that complicated which is why I dont understand why these guys keep getting busted. If you can survive for three weeks without it, you can survive for 6...

There is a major difference between caring if someone smokes weed and caring if someone fails required drug tests.

For example Joe smokes a lot of weed and openly uses other drugs as well. The UFC seems to have no issue with it, that being said Joe's smoking weed doesn't cause the commission to exclude him from being part of an event... whereas with fighters who fail their drug tests they are excluded from being part of events for up to a year at a time.

How can a promotions company promote a fighter after a win if the win is overturned and the fighter is serving a suspension for half of every year?

I think it is obvious that the UFC doesn't care if fighters smoke weed. They UFC cares if fighters can't participate in events they have planned for them.

i get fired for failing a drug test.

why the fuck should i give a shit if a fighter does too? grow up you cry babies.

Hence why Nick Diaz is fighting for the title... Was he high when he said this?

just theorizing...but was he high when he wrote that?

Nick Diaz getting a title shot after losing his last fight
Nate Diaz being treated so well by the UFC
Mayhem Miller getting a lot of second chances
Did I mention the Diaz brothers yet?
oh yeah...JOE FUCKING ROGAN!!

it's one thing to apply, it's another to get it approved. since there hasnt been an application through nsac, we dont even know how kizer/nsac will respond. but this quote from kizer might be an indication:

"If you're using medical marijuana, you're probably in no condition to fight," he said.

not to mention the exemption would only apply to fights in nevada.

well i think at least one fighter should try just to find out one way or another. also just cause kizer said that does not mean the NSAC will reject the TUE

kizer is the director and will give his input at the hearing, but he does not vote on any TUE application.

Riddle's a boring fighter end of story, they were looking for a reason to cut him.

He seems like a decent enough dude, and nothing at all wrong with smoking weed unlessssss you don't take the necessary steps to make sure it doesn't break any of your employment rules.. apparently his 3 weeks before the fight wasn't enough.. a month is usually good.. sucks though, should have figured that out before getting fired.. his last fight did not help his case at all, if it was fight of the decade and he was selling ppv cards he'd most likely still have a job.

Unfortunately THC metabolites stay in your body WAY longer than most drugs, it sucks, because it's a fairly innocuous substance, and pretty much not even regarded as criminal anymore.
It's obviously a bonehead move on Riddle's part for not getting his priorities straight, but it also sucks to be fired for weed. I mean, dude obviously isn't lazy or something, he's always in GREAT shape and his skills have been improving slowly but steadily. Che Mills is a damn solid win for a guy like Riddle, who people consider a perpetual prelim kinda guy.
