It is a great movie. Its a slow burn and I get that that isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but it’s still a great movie.

It's not a 'taste' movie though. It's a very watchable high seas flick. Nobody thinks the film sucks, at worst it's a little long and forgettable.

But there are a very loud portion of the internet (mainly reddit) who think it's unsung masterpiece. Which gets thrown around too damn much when nostalgia is involved.
