Marvel's new X-Men reboot will be "Female Centric"

A lot of the original movies were already centered around Rogue to begin with. Even if Hugh Jackman was a huge star as wolverine. They told a lot of the story from Rogue's perspective from the time she showed up at Xavier's institute to the time she chose to take the cure and get rid of her powers. No need to pander to one group at the exclusion of another. X men of all the super hero groups out there already has some of the most interesting female characters. Jean Grey is literally the most powerful mutant with the Phoenix force.

With the exception of Xavier himself, the women are by far the most powerful mutants on the team. They've got a guy with claws and a guy who shoots lasers out of his eyes. Compared to a woman who is Xavier 2.0, a woman who controls the weather, and a woman who can steal powers. It's not even fair. The writers put zero effort into the male characters.

Prime Wolverine is a master of several martial arts, has fought in every war since and including the American Civil War, is a highly trained spy/assassin and his Healing Factor makes him damn near unkillable. His strength, agility, reflexes and stamina are all Superhuman, he can track a person by their scent and because his bones are coated in Adamantium, being punched by Logan is like getting hit by a sledgehammer.

He walks through Pheonix's best shots and kills her in the third X Men film. Storm and Jean are glass cannons compared to the Old Canuckle Head. The ladies might land a few decent shots, but as soon as Wolverine gets within striking range, it's all over.

Rogue in the movies is vastly underpowered compared to her comic book counterpart. Comic Book Rogue permenantly stole Captain Marvel's powers, making her a true Heavyweight. She can fly, lift over 50 tons and possess high-level invulerability; small arms fire just bounces off her and she can trade punches with some of the most powerful Heroes and Villains. And that's without draining another Superhuman's powers.

Movie Rogue is limited to stealing other Mutant's powers for a limited amount of time, although she can knock out or even kill people with prolonged contact. She's not even a B-Lister in the films.

Cyclops, like Rogue is Nerfed in the movies. In the comics, when he takes over in the wake of Xavier's death, even fucking Magneto is impressed by just how ruthless and manipulative Scott is when it comes to protecting Mutantkind. He also destroyed a Sentinal with a single Optic Blast, which lead Wolverine himself to mutter,

"You know, Summers, just sometimes I remember why you're in charge around here..."

Lol. At the end of the day he's still just a dude with claws and has a skeleton that their main enemy LITERALLY HAS CONTROL OVER.

Well yeah, styles make fights. Wolverine against Magneto is like Superman vs a guy wearing Kryptonite armour(stand down, Batman).

Doesn't change the fact that Wolverine can literally spank any of the X Women and tell them to go make him a sandwhich. ;)

Any of them son him 1 v 1. His best matchup is Rogue who can just straight up steal his powers and render him temporarily unconscious. He's literally the weakest member of the X-Men, not sure why you chose to lead with him.

Nope. Not even close. Wolverine killed Jean Grey when she was possessed by the Pheonix Force. That's canon.

What's Storm going to do, make it rain? Sure, his Adamantium makes him vulnerable to lightening, but she has to hit him first. Logan's way too fast and skilled for her to land a good shot on him.

Are you referring to the worst X-Men movie as canon?

Let it be known you were the one who brought up lightning. She can literally kill him from a mile away.

The only reason Wolverine exists is because his claws look cool. He's a can, not to mention a midget. He wouldn't even be allowed to post on sherdog.

Still canon. And if you honestly think it's the worst X Men movie, you haven't seen Dark Pheonix.

Nope. At best, she'll knock him out. Then a few minutes later Logan will wake up healed and pissed off, and gut her before she can even see him move.

In the first Civil War, Nitro burned Wolverine down to his Adamantium skeleton. No skin or vital organs. Still didn't even come close to stopping him. And Storm doesn't have that level of raw power.

Wolverine can bench way more than teh 275, is a legit martial arts master and a combat vet.

He'd be a Mod. ;)

I stopped reading comics a long time ago, but I believe iceman became one of the most powerful. He could make ice cities, teleport, multiply himself, freeze people organs, etc.

I always thought ironic that actor played a beta bitch in back to back roles....

This will likely go about as well as Captain Marvel and Ghostbusters

If it's well written I'm completely down for a Jean Grey centered story. Fox centering the whole universe around Wolverine probably wasn't a bad financial decision, but it's really not what the Xmen are about.

Yup. Easiest way to advertise your movie is just go start a rumor that's certain to piss off a lot of people.

You can always change direction later, after you've gotten all the free publicity

Like that genius Romeo and Juliet casting?

lol...

Not that I'm the target audience. I already had to sit through that play in High School... Zero desire to watch of movie of it.

But damn... if you're picking a black actress... Pick one who's at least a 4 out of 10... in Boise

The last movie was so bad... frankly it would be a great injustice for the franchise to somehow recover from such a pile of shit. Nobody gives a flying fuck about the female X-Men characters. Nobody gives a flying fuck about anyone but wolverine tbh. There are a very small handful of superhero characters interesting and popular enough to make a movie about. An ensemble movie with a bunch of cheap no name no talent actors is a guaranteed flop.
