Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 & 2 Remasters Coming to PC/PS4/XBONE

It appears that Marvel and Activision's Ultimate Alliance games are making their way to current gen consoles.

The news comes courtesy of the Taiwan Game Software Ratings Board, who posted the games on their site, with a rating of auxiliary 12 and the publisher listed as Activision Europe. In addition to those two games, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron was also contained in the listing (via Gematsu).

The Ultimate Alliance games were natural progressions from the two previous X-Men: Legends games, which were developed by Raven Software. While Raven developed the first Ultimate Alliance, the second game was taken over by Vicarious Visions and took on the popular Civil War storyline seen in the comics.

All of the above-mentioned games were received well, and they all implemented the classic beat-'em-up formula along with four player co-op play. The mechanics were sound, if not revolutionary, but they excelled at truly capturing the essence of the heroes you controlled. The games were also littered with fan service and included bonuses for using certain teams or costumes together.

I'm not a fan of so many games being remastered but this is one I\m happy for. X-Men Legends and Marvel Ultimate Alliance games were good couch co-op games. Maybe we get Ultimate Alliance 3 if these remasters do well.

I played the shit out of these. Really looking forward to these because I want to play with my kid. He's really getting into super heroes so he'll have a blast with these.

I dug the first one and the first X-men Legends game that got it rolling. Probably pick it up when/if I switch over.

I played through Ultimate Alliance 1 like 5 times. Ultimate Alliance 2 I think I played through twice or three times.

So they decided to pick up the Marvel license again?

Hopefully as mentioned DLC will be included (didn't manage to get the MUA2 DLC before it was removed), the system exclusive characters (Hawkeye was PSP exclusive in MUA1 I believe?) and successful sales would lead to Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3.

Agreed. Without the DLC, it seems like a ripoff...a fun ripoff, but one nonetheless.

The price is a bit high for my liking. Should have been no higher than $20 each and $35 for bundle. I see why they did it thou. If you check Amazon or Ebay for the first Ultimate Alliance and see what kind of prices they are asking for the demand is there.

It is remastered. They even said updated graphics and UI.
