Movies Marvel Studios in Crisis - A Variety Article

Jonathan Majors could be curing cancer for all I care, Kang has to go. They ruined him before he got solo'd by Paul Rudd.

They need to stop making everything for a year, develop a reboot, hire proper directors, no need to match directors to movies based on a demographic, and pull back on the terrible CGI.
And flipper feet gotta go!

Another thing was, as someone mentioned, starting to put d leaguers in their own movies and shit.

Just cause it worked with guardians doesn't mean it was gonna work with Captain marvel and shit
The right Captain Marvel movie could've worked.
The character doesn't suck; the movie and everything about it sucked.

IMO the #1 issue is all the new heroes are just copies of the old heroes. They need to stop that. Bring in real new heroes with new powers that are different from everyone else. Nobody wants to see a black Iron Man woman. Nobody wants to see BP but it's the sister now. Lets do Hulk but it's a woman now. Hawkeye but it's a teenage girl now. Black Widow but it's her sister now.

It's all so lazy and uninspired. I'm kind of shocked Kevin F. ok'd all these decisions. They should have brought in the mutants already and started doing story lines based on that. The purchase was completed like 4 years ago we should already have movies coming out for this.
i agree with the premise, but She-Hulk is a least a legit marvel character. They should have recast Black Panther. We've had 3 different actors play Hulk #justice4Bana

The problem is creating a new IP (new characters) that can rival the old ones. Aside from Fox Marvel characters (F4, X-men/mutants) who else is popular/cool/fun enough to replace the OG cast? The answer is no one. You simply cannot beat that OG cast with that OG history/material source to pull from.

The quality had nowhere to go but down.

The main problem was it took way too long for Disney to acquire Fox. They didn't close till 2019 and it takes several years to setup. We're watching average shit while we wait for Fantastic 4 and the X-men.

Prior to Iron Man 1, Iron Man and the Avengers hadn't been popular in the comics fora long time. Of course the OG Avengers are the best Avengers for movies, but they have a ton of characters and rogues to play with. If they can figure out how to make a righteous F.F. and/or X-Men movie then they're back in business and can rebuild the Avengers further on down the road. I think its important that they recast and recast based on a vision not whose hot at the moment.

It's really not that hard. 99% of people could've told them that making a sequel to Captain marvel is a bad financial move.

Maybe..... Just maybe..... It's time to actually listen to their audience.

I promise the bleeding will stop almost immediately.
not only was a sequel a bad idea, but looking at the trailer, wtf thought this was the way forward? this is going to bomb so hard

Their new stuff just isn’t exciting and doesn’t have any interesting villains or heroes for that matter. Dr doom, X-men and F4 have the potential to revive the mcu but at this point I’m worried they’d botch them. No way home, Shang chi and GOTG 3 have been the only really decent post endgame movies. I don’t even know who the villain is supposed to be in the marvels, and captain marvel just isn’t that exciting. That alone makes it difficult to get hyped for.

I don’t see anything in the remainder of p5 that gets me hyped, blade and Deadpool on paper would but I’m not sure Disney has it in them to make the movies as dark and violent as they should be. Thunderbolts could be cool but it’s just a bunch of side characters tossed into a movie so I expect it to just be whelming at best.

Not at all. But then I didn't watch the Charlies Angles remake.

iu

No one watched the last one;)

Oh not saying it couldnt, just saying that when I was big into marvel as a kid, Captain Marvel wasnt one of the ones I, or people I knew were into.
But I guess I was like 11-12 whne the Ultimate series started to come out (spider man, x-men, avengers etc) so I might be dating myself.

I was more DC outside of spidy man and the x-men.

You're 100% right she wasn't a big character (probably C level) but she had movie potential. Affiliated with the Avengers, and X-Men (Binary), as well as outer-space (Kree, Binary).

F.F. and Doom seem impossible to pull off to me for some reason. Especially Doom.

You're right that She-Hulk a legit character but it should have been saved for much much later down the road. All their focus should have been on different marvel characters. Which they did try a bit but to much focus was put on recreating the old characters as well.

No studio produces nothing but hits. Making movies and tv shows is actually really really difficult. Marvel has 30 hits in a row (something like that - a big string of hits until The Eternals). You have to be really good and really lucky for that to happen. It is not sustainable.

Marvel has lots of duds in that run mate. The Dark World was ass for example. It's just now, all they make is duds.

Sherdog Galaxy Brain: "what a dud"

once you realize that nobody is making films specifically for your individual enjoyment, the world will look like a radically different place

I’m holding out hope that Marvel can get back on track, but what I’ve been hearing about Daredevil, “my most anticipated marvel show”, has got me worried.

maybe the Daredevil news should make you cautiously optimistic instead? Marvel accepted that they had a quality problem, brought in actual tv people to try to fix it, and seem willing to take financial hit rather than put out something that they don't have confidence in.

But I really don't know. I am not claiming that it is good news. But maybe it will turn out for the best?

Are you a fan of the Netflix era Marvel shows like Daredevil?
