Mark Hunt: I hit harder than Mike Tyson

I think they both hit with the maximum amount of hardness haha..

If either of those guys hits you full force, you're in a coma.

Yep, if you ever want to judge someones boxing knowledge ask them who hits the hardest, if they say "Tyson" they aren't a real fan of the sport.

The correct answer would be Shavers, possibly Foreman; or they'd give you p4p answer like Jackson or Hearns.
Hell , pretty sure Bruno also hit harder, probably Cooper too.

Bopp Sapp was a world class striker in K1 too. Big fuckin deal. Hunt has few notable KOs before his recent UFC run even. He was not known for knockouts. That was also one of the weakest K1 tournaments ever.
No the fuck he wasn't, not even close. Yes he beat Ernesto Hoost (twice, even), but he did it with roided haymakers on a 350 pound frame.

Bob Sapp, world class striker, LMMFAO. That's the funniest thing I've heard all week.

Hahaha, I'm still laughing here. World class striker.

Ok, Hunt knocked people out in K-1 at a low rate, but you're talking pillow gloves, not the 4 oz'ers.

Bob Sapp world class striker. That's too much, man, lol. You just made my millenium.

I think you have to give Sapp credit. if you beat Hoost twice in his prime then you are world class not skill wise but as a fighter yes. He also gave Minotauro hell in MMA. For short period Sapp was a world class fighter

You just prove my point. A guy like Sapp can basically walk in off the street untrained and compete with the best. He couldn't do that against a top boxer. Or wrestler. Imagine him going against Klitschko or Karelin in their sports. lol. Or even guys way below them.

I am saying having some big K1 wins doesn't mean much and used Sapp as an example. K1 fighters have been overrated on here forever but there seems to be less delusion about it now. K1 means nothing to me. I liked the org and owned the game too.

Hunt definitely hits harder than Tyson, no question, he simply has more mass to put into his punches. Once the punching mechanics are there, that's what it comes down to.

That's not saying that Hunt's a better boxer than Mike, but Tyson's knockouts weren't just the result of raw power. The more experienced opponents he's finished have pretty much echoed the same sentiment after actually taking those punches:

Larry Holmes: "He's a sharper puncher, than [Earnie Shavers, Ken Norton, etc.], the other guys punch much harder."

Trevor Berbick: "He punch pretty hard cause I felt it, it wasn't a one-punch knockout thing but I felt it...[asked if that's the hardest he's ever been punched]... it's a funny kind of punch because it comes at different angles."

scary to think someone punches more harder than Mike Tyson. And brock doesnt like taking punishment either

I'm going to call shenanigans on world class anything involving Bob Sapp. That said, I laughed at him being called a world class striker. But he was a decent fighter at the peak of his roidness.

Hoost was actually coming out of his prime, but yes, anytime you can beat the arguably the greatest kickboxer of all time. You have to be good, or huge, lol.

It's hard to say.

I believe it was Larry Holmes who once said that George Foreman hits like a freight train going 40MPH and Tyson hits like a Corvette going 200MPH.
A corvette at 200 mph means he hits very very hard.

What are you on about. When Cus was training him, he used the peekaboo style, and Dempsey roll to get in and land combos.
Pernell Whittaker was a combination puncher. Tyson was a combination puncher "with massive power". Saying he is just a combination puncher is only tellling half the story.

MMA fighters do not punch as hard as pro boxers.

What a silly ass statement for Hunt to make.

A young George foreman hit like a cement truck. Check out some YouTube vids of him hitting the heavy bag.

Haha did you just say that NBA basketball players are better athletes than MMA fighters?! Hahahahaha, thats insane, most to probably none of basketball players are in the same galaxy athletically as MMA fighters. That doesnt even make sense to me, theyre usually not strong or fast for their size, piss poor conditionig compared to MMA fighters and most of them are not explosive at all, just really tall

Someone doesn't watch basketball...
