If the animal tests are conclusive, maybe we can start treatments for humans. Inquiring minds want to know.
 
For the most part, domestic house cats would get along just fine in a world with no humans.

in city environments, yes. As long as lots of shelter and covered areas existed. But once all man made structures disappeared and they had to live mostly out in the open seeking only natures shelters they would struggle and get picked off.
