I hate to say it, but most of the refs the UFC uses are terrible. They are rarely consistent. They have horrible timing and barely invoke the rules effectively. Some of them have become so inattentive to the happenings of the fight that they have resorted to calling a stoppage the second anyone appears hurt. They're having a negative impact on the product and are hurting fighters' careers.

Kape fouls Asu who's trying desperately to get a timeout, and after defending incoming strikes, runs but is still demonstrating that he's intelligently defending himself, yet Beltran decides to stop the fight as he's shooting a TD on Manel.

I couldn't agree more. I cringe when I see that Dan, Herb or Goddard have been assigned to a big, or even good fight. I used to think Herzog was the gold standard and he's gone to shit.
