Making up lies/stories = a mental illness?

The term gets thrown around too much imo

If a guy is an asshole who doesnt care about other people hes not "mentally ill" hes just a fuckin asshole who doesnt care about other people, lets not make this bigger than it is

Right but I think there’s a difference between an asshole and someone who is willing to ruin someone else’s life; you know what I mean? And yes a lot might be sociopathic....but I wonder if all of them are.

I think that about drone strike operators too. Yes some are torn up about it, but lots of people just aren’t and I don’t think they’re sociopathic necessarily, fuck, or even assholes at all. It feels very muddy, do you know what I’m saying?

Think about it though.

The guy that wants to ruin somebodies life is an asshole. He's not mentally ill. He has mean intentions. HE is to blame. Not some disease. Not some mental "illness" that he isn't in control of.

This is all a way for people to skirt blame for their own actions. By calling it a mental illness you are shifting the blame from the person to the disease. That's bullshit. People need to be held accountable for their actions.

And then someone will say "But I took medication and I feel better now." Well yeah, duh. The medication makes you feel good, It releases your seratonin and dopamine so you act like less of a prick to people. Again, you aren't mentally ill, you're just a prick, and now you've got drugs so you feel better.

Mental health is subjective. Some admire the peaceful stoner, others the cutthroat CEO. All humans are hardwired to seek advantage. Mentally ill or mentally normal? Were each singular judges of that.

i know people like that
i know a girl who made up sexual assault allegations about a dude and laughed about it. she is also making up stories about being to places she never went to, talking to very important people she never met, stuff like this. she is hot as fuck though so she gets away with it. some people even believe her.
don't know what all that means.
other than that, she seems happy and cheerful all the time.
