Yeah, I think due to Arman's wrestling that was the harder matchup compared to Volk. I have my concerns how a not so good wrestler in Ortega got Volk down though.

Islam is obviously bigger, but volk is a tank. it's not an insurmountable size difference.

It is a fascinating fight and I hope at least that Volka makes a good go of it and doesn't get murked.

Whatever happens... Maximum credit for stepping up a division and fighting a killer like Makhachev.

Guarantee you Dana and the UFC love that shit and Volk gets major points for agreeing to it.

If Volka even makes it CLOSE and manages to drag the fight into Rd 3 or later.... He will definitely have shown he can be a force at 155lbs (even if he loses this fight against Makhachev).

Volk just CANNOT afford to get held down on the mat for long. Defeat awaits him there. Gotta keep it standing as much as possible.

If Volk can make it a dirty nasty fight and grind Makha and MAYBE tire him out a bit .....And avoid getting subbed then he has a chance at least.

Agree but I think the key is whether Volk can be fast and powerful at 155. If Islam gets his hands on Volk the fight is going to the ground. IMO Volk needs to jump on him like Cejudo jumped on TJ. If he lets the fight fall into a comfortable rhythm I think he’s doomed.

Volk has become my favorite fighter so I hope you're right. I really thought highly of where Oliviera was at too, but Makhavhev made light work of him.
