Make up some movie trivia

Tom Hanks is actually half retarded, on his mother’s side, which is why director Robert Zemeckis thought he would be perfect for the role of Forrest Gump.

Wilson the volleyball in Castaway was originally supposed to be a scantily clad woman played by Bridgette Wilson. Test audiences found Hanks choosing Helen Hunt at the end over Bridgette Wilson to be unrealistic. So her character was rewritten to be sports equipment.

I love reading about movie stars who auditioned for parts in great movies. Burt Reynolds said he wanted to play Sonny in Godfather but that Marlon Brando hated him and told Coppola not to hire him. Looking at his young pics he would have been great as Santino.

Supposedly, while filming the "squeal like a pig" scene in Deliverance, the actor playing hillbilly rapist #2 got so into character that everyone feared he was gearing up to cornhole Ned Beatty for reals and Burt tackled the guy off him.

I think I read Ron Howard read for the part of Luke in Star Wars.

Couldn't find the Kevin Spacey/Daryl Hammond Star Wars screen tests. It was a good bit. They have plenty of new ones... that people care about way less. As usual.

I wonder if they cast someone other than Adam Sandler and his cronies without dumbing down to Sandler's standards if they couldn't have gotten a decent movie out of that concept.

It could have worked, but the whole thing would have needed a major rewrite from the ground up. It was based on this...

...something with basically no lines and no plot. And they just stapled a whole bunch of retarded lines and plot onto it for the Sandler film. And it showed.

This bit of trivia is actually true.

Tom Hanks was raised as a girl until he was 8 years old.

Vin Deisel wanted the role of Alejandro in Sicario, but they told him he was too tall, and they say that was the last time Vin Diesel ever wore lifts.
For he knew they were serious, because that made much more sense than his acting ability being shit

In the Shawshank redemption, Andy was supposed to be the aggressive homosexual targeting random prisoners, but it was thought that this would interfere with his role as the protagonist

All of the characters that Denzel Washington plays in movies are the same person just each different version is a different version of that person in the multi dimension multiverse of the universe.

When Spielberg approached M&Ms to be used in E.T., they said "no".

So, he approached Skittles. They said "Fuck Off. Close Encounters of the Third Kind is waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy overrated. You're just making a kid's version of that piece of trash."

So, he approached Reeses Pieces...and the rest is history.

After OJ Simpson learnt that he couldn't be the Terminator because he was not a believable Killer, he became determined to learn how to believably act in that role. He became so skilled that to this day many people believe he is a Killer.

During filming of Inception, a lot of the people on set reported that Leonardo Dicaprio would make noises in the background during scenes that he wasn't in and they had to keep doing the scenes over. He was making noises on purposes because according to him, if you're in a dream you should still hear stuff that doesn't make sense. On several occasions they had to remove him from the set.

This one isn't fake btw

There was an episode of Batman, the Animated Series back in the early 90s where Batman was stuck in a dream due to some shenanigans by Scarecrow.

The viewer was unware that the entire episode was a dream.

As the episode came to a close, Batman states to Scarecrow that he knew he was stuck in a dream. When the Scarecrow asked how he figured it out, Batman stated that earlier in the eposode he caught a glimpse of a book (or was it a newspaper), and he saw that the letters were all jumbled. Since the part of the brain that dreams and reads are no connected, he deducted that he was in a dream. Hence, why he couldn't read the book.

I thought that was awesome and still remember it.

Sadly, I recall that episode when I'm having a decent dream and I see jumbled letters...then wake up.

Did you know that Titanic was shot in only one take ?
Little known fact

In the original Jaws, there is an opening scene where a girl is swimming at night and gets killed by the mechanical Shark Jaws. In Reality, the original actress had her period. This attracted real sharks, and one of the underwater camera men was killed by one after some blood got on him.
