Majority of Republicans now think college is bad

College isn't making them happy. It's weaponizing the freaks.

All of you pig people are freaks to the most attractive members of society. You just use different vocalizations (conservative or liberal) to appear more desirable.

I actually came to this conclusion about 3 years ago for hand full of reasons. I no longer have confidence that the institutions of higher education in the United States (in general) are a net good to the American youth who enroll in them. They have become outright snake-pits of post-modernist neo-marxist indoctrination. And I am not at all sure what the solution to this is.

So many ugly repubs mad that other ugly dudes are learning how to snatch prime puss.

Obviously I can't speak to your education but if done right there is no topic that is indoctrination IMO. If done as logical and scientifically based you are receiving facts and findings from a perspective or given field. I've personally never taken a class that felt like blind indoctrination.

Of course it can be done badly, but I wouldn't demonize entire fields of study. IMO that blame belongs on the professor or institution or both.

No, the humanities have earned their poor reputation through hard work. Fields like women's studies are absolutely indoctrination.

In general though, consider the findings of studies that show that colleges overall do not contribute to greater critical thinking skills.

I'm not sure I buy that last paragraph. It's true that the vast majority of scientists are liberal but most of finance professionals are right leaning, for example. That holds true for most business professionals. Of course there are economics academics on both sides of the political isle, same is true for law professors, etc.. I think the reason most professors are liberal is because of the topics presented, not the profession itself. Arts and sciences are heavily liberal and that makes up a large part of the curriculum, but economics, law, business etc. are not.

There's nothing inherently liberal or conservative about history or literature.

There's been tons of studies done. Some show that massive proportionate differences, which I tend to think are exaggerated, but the only real question is not whether college professors are much more liberal than the students they teach, but to what extent.

Here's an article that links to study that may be slightly exaggerated, but note that it finds the inequality is much more pronounced in the humanities. It is departments like gender studies, English, and history that give colleges their bad name.

Murka is an oligarchy not a meritocracy plus is very anti-science so this isnt surprising.

Back in the day only landed nobles would go to college so Im sure most of Murka still follows that belief.

Thanks. I'll read those when I get a chance.

Look at the politicians that continually say college is a bad thing, and guess what they earned themselves to get in that position...........

I wrote a research paper on the rise of the anti science and intellectualism movement here in America. It's been growing because of both sides of the political spectrum. The southern evangelical movement and the rise of post modernism on the left seem to be the largest historical contributors.

Except leftist post modernism is tiny in numbers and relegated to a few clubs and organizations in some colleges.

Anti-science on the right makes up the majority of GOP constituents and elected officials. The disparity in power and influence between the two is unbelievable.

I hope you included that in your paper.

He's not talking about the type of anti science you are talking. Postmodernists and southern evangelicals believe there is no objective reality, therefore we can't use the scientific method to explain the world.

Maybe it's just relative. It's three more bars than I own.

As far as the true part, I assume it is.

I did mortgages after college for years and also bartended for years. I still bartend now if I have too. I helped an old employer last week on a wednesdya night and it's super packed there. They have like a lounge night on wednesdays in the summer and It's packed. Worked from 4pm-2Am and made $700 for the night. Not too bad plus it's cash. Although I do declare my tips for tax purposes.

When I bartended full time 4-5 days a week I made over 100K just bartending good places in nj and NYC. You have to be at the right spots and you make bank.

I would worry about yourself getting banned with that piss stain name you got going on.

The fuck you calling a alpha like me a cuckaroo anyways? You bout to get clapped up cuh

Oh and... putting a law degree in my face? Lol... you should worry more about performing well and getting clients, the hard work is just beginning :)
Polar bears don't worry about cuc

I focused more on the right in that paper, yes. I do think you're underestimating how prominent post modernist is on the left and how much post modernist thought has proliferated throughout the left. It's not just a tiny group of people. The countrywide SJW movement alone shows that.
