Crime Majorie Taylor Green wealth has increased from 700k to 21 million the last 4 years.

No wonder guys like George Santos are running for office.

Cue Morgan Freeman’s voice.
The last 4 years Majorie made 174 thousand a year as a member of the U.S. Congress.
I have said too bad I have morals. I could move to some conservative district and play the cultural warrior card. Get elected , fucking profit and then play the Pelosi trading card and all the Rubes that voted for me won’t give a shit about me doing the same thing
As the great philosopher Yakoff Smirnoff said, “ What a Country”

She is a psycho and just as corrupt as the rest of them. It’s funny and such an odd coincidence that nearly every politician hides behind their financial advisers that just happen to always guess correctly when it comes to big contracts being awarded.

The timing of when she bought her stocks is interesting, no? Come on, you can admit to at least that

Why should she be any different? Most members of congress happen to be extremely skilled traders, don’t you know?

I don’t see why she gets a thread when you would have a harder time singling out house members that didn’t get filthy rich from their position.

Add her to the Pelosi list. It’s well past time to reign in our politicians.

I actually kind of find it hard to be mad at her though when we have a Supreme Court judge openly taking bribes. She’s just one person of over 500 in her seat at least. I also expect her to be crazy and a bit of a POS, and I don’t expect that from a judge. I mean we knew that about her when she was elected. Our country is so fucked

I think they should be restricted to broad index funds.
This right here. That way they have a vested interest in the health of the economy in general. It should be a hard rule for any legislator or judge that they can’t be making private investments. There should al very clearly be no bribes of any kind. No gifts from Zuckerberg sorry

The crazy thing is these kinds of restrictions exist for federal employees. Like the average government worker with little authority or power are held to a much higher standard than these people and it’s bonkers

ah, why should she be held to account for the blatant corruption? That's great. With that level of reasoning, you don't have to be upset about anything then.

That is what I have always said.
If you restrict all trading, you will have guys like Rick Scott saying dumb shit like how can they survive on making 174k/year, full benefits, including full health care.
If you limit it to managed funds, that have to a have a certain number of stocks in them, then they can't cry poverty over not being able to invest.

They don't fear us at all and it shows in everything they do. They know we know and they know that a Democrat isn't gonna vote republican and vice versa so they feel safe to do whatever.

While I'm aware of this problem , and I totally think it's going to be the death of our nation I don't have any idea how to deal with it.

Enact bills creating corporate funding of political party limitations

Enforce requirements for elected officials to hold no stocks or investments.

Start voting for third and fourth parties. Break the deadlock binary death spiral.

This is all easy stuff. You Americans could get it going in earnest within a few years. Within a decade it could be fixed right up.

She needs to be jailed

Why do you only care when it’s Taylor Greene?

She’s not my representative. I support banning reps from stock trading. So that’s about it. Other than that, this is selective

I've been pushing for legislation in my country that would prohibit politicians from trading stocks while in office. This includes trying to influence policy from the inside as well as writing to my local representatives. I'm against this shit, unlike you who seems to allow it because "everyone does it"

This is really a bipartisan issue. I think most voters agree that this nonsense needs to end. However, both political parties also agree and this is one issue they work together to make sure it keeps going. They work to split us on the issue and they prefer it when we only try to hold one parties rep accountable. Nothing can be changed that way.

You’re right though that MTG isn’t the worst offender. She’s probably average. Pelosi and Justice Thomas are both far worse in their corruption. Those two deserve prison time and a forfeiture of their ill gotten gains

"As per financial news outlet Benzinga, Greene’s portfolio was ranked 23rd in performance among Congressional members in the previous year, generating a return of 30.2% on stock transactions. " had to Google this...
