Maia Prayer Vigil

Probably the creepiest thread of all time, but uhhh, since it's Maia, I'm down. Haha

What caused the blood?

Story already was bleeding out of his nose and the angle and pressure probably just caused it to come out. He didn't fracture his skull or anything.

War Maia!

Now that would be scary. When I first saw it I thought it came out of his eyes

Since people keep talking about Story's fractured skull (or lack of it) around Sherdog, I take it, that's what causes blood to just drip out of someone's nose?

as long as he understands to protect his chin, he could be a monster. BUT when you have wrestlers like gsp, fitch, kos etc, that he will never be able to take down, he will get frustrated and try to stand and bang and lose :icon_neut

yeah, and he would never be able to take down guys like chael sonnen either, wait, wut?

well, he won't be able to take down fitch for sure. shit, i just watched BJ vs fitch, now i am not so sure.

well, anyway, he took down story at will, but he never wrestled. wut, wait, i see here he outwrestled johnny hendricks in there fight.

let me check out this johnny hendricks. oh, he wrestled for OSU. but OSU fucking sucks at wrestling. i mean, wait what?????

my whole world is upsidedown. north is south, south is north, i really didn't pay a lot for this mufler

His leg trips made the right, Maia is quite good with judoish takedowns. He would have wasted time and energy going for the legs of Story.

Yeah he definitely destroys the stigma that you can't put a wrestler on his back.

If you have good judo, have no size/weight/strength disadvantage and are relentless with your takedowns and throws, it's going to happen. This is a style and weight that fits Maia perfectly.

I do worry about him gassing out in the later rounds, because at WW, his cardio might be tested big time because of the cut. I hope he has completely adapted by now.

That was a thing of beauty. ADCC Maia has returned, and the subs are coming to the division

He looks better with every outing at WW IMO. And he should. His body is getting used to the cuts and his performance is getting better.

I thought of this thread when I saw the story fight. Gotta love seeing Maia get in there and putting his opponent away with a nice and early sub.
