Yeah Gracie Mag reported in an interview with Maia that they want him against Bisping.
Are we seriously still stuck on the "it will be tough for him to get it to the ground" thing though?
HE'LL PULL GUARD IF NEED BE.
Michael Bisping isn't a strong finisher and his ground and pound isn't too on point so I would say this would potentially be another triangle victory for Maia, given that he doesn't waste time standing and getting boxed up. Although his stand up is drastically improved, Bisping is excellent at coming in, scoring points and getting out.
Bisping has great TDD and pops right back up alot. Maia has great grappling takedowns for sure but Bisping has been doing the TDD stuff at 205lbs against really good wrestlers for awhile now. Will be fun to watch and see if Bisping will have an answer for Maia's alternative takedown style and if not then can Maia hold him down?
