First off, hats off to Magny for what was one of the greatest come backs this year. He is a legit top 5 fighter and improves every showing.

However, this fight tangentially raises Maia's stock. To see how Maia cut through Magny with relatively little effort speaks to just how far ahead his ground game is than any other fighter at MW.

Maia with a gas tank is the champ at 170lbs.

Then what does that make frickin Nate Marquardt?

But yes, I do agree. Magny displayed some of the Maia BJJ training tonight.

I've been saying for the past year and a half that Demian Maia is your next welterweight champ. Terrible matchup for everyone in the division. Even Rory almost lost to him, but he wasn't nearly as improved as he is now.

Peoples eyes will open up when he absolutely obliterates Matt Brown in May.

I really don't think so, he simply isn't a good enough striker. He isn't going to wrestle a guy like Lawler or McDonald down and is just going to get beat up on the feet. If Wonderboy keeps it standing, and he may, then the same thing is going to happen. Hendricks off the juice may be doable but i really doubt he gets him on the mat unless he gasses. He's just like Jake Shields.

He already wrestled Rory down and had him mounted for an extended time, but he gassed bad and lost rounds 2 and 3. Maia's gas tank is his problem, he's a decent striker. Maia's td's are different than the blasting forward most of the top welters have, he uses angles extremely well. His takedowns have a good amount in common with someone like Edgar.

I'm dying now. How the hell did you remember that bullshit xD

Maia loses to the top fighters with good TDD like how he lost to Rory.

In the top 10, if you can stay off the mat, you beat Demian Maia.

Lawler is a fuckin nightmare for him

Problem is Maia´s new improved Judo+Wrestling+BJJ+GnP combo is a nightmare in it´s self.

Only thing that can stop Maia is his age he´s 38. But if he gets he´s shot this year he can be the champion and defend the belt.

Yeah cite a fight that happened 5-6 years ago as if that is relevant today.

Relax, man, I'm just having a little fun. Maia and Magny are both great fighters who have become monsters lately.
