Rumor is also that the UFC are going to (if they can...) ALLOW a crowd to attend the UFC 257 in Abu Dhabi.
I'm SURE that's quite deliberate as it's a McGregor event. If so...they're going to promote the crap out of UFC 257.
(not that it really needs it).

- I think what they're gonna do is have every single person who wants to attend COVID tested the day before, rush the tests through and ...if you're COVID-negative you're good to attend the event, and you probably have to remain on Yas Island until the event is over. I don't think it'll be a BIG crowd, but I think it'll be SOME type of crowd. Probably very wealthy local Emirates folk, happy to pay a big-ticket price to see in person a UFC big event.

You guys are all wrong, Khamzat accepted the fight, the UFC, said no because they wanted a top five so they can fast track him into a title fight so they could get rid of Usman. they need a 170 guy who can sell PPV and fight often and Khamzat is their guy. Neil is not a draw nor is he highly ranked.
Nobody cares if Leon is ill, they just want Khamzat to get a fight, stuff Anthony Pettis vs Alex as a replacement fight, no to that.

I have a feeling Khamzat doesn't want that fight. Magny is a nightmare for most. He's so well rounded with excellent cardio.

Say what? Leon is ranked above him and is arguably a tougher fight for Khamzat. He beat RDA who Magny lost to.

That said, I like Magny and with Leon out, this is the best matchup for him in the division right now.

This is basically exactly it.
- UFC like to engineer things and Khamzat would be promoted very well, he fights often, he can sub people, he can KO them on their feet, he has an exciting fighting style and let's face it, as good as Usman is, his fighting style is really very dull. (OK the Covington fight was an exception). Plus he doesn't have a magic personality so Usman really isn't easy to promote at all.

Masvidal is a big draw now at 170lbs, BUT he is getting old-ish and he won't be around for too much longer.

Khamzat is who they want to rush into a title-shot, and Edwards is the vehicle to get that done due to his very high 170lb ranking, assuming of course that Khamzat can win that fight. If Khamzat wins convincingly, then I think they'll FORCE Usman to fight Khamzat for the welterweight title, and the UFC won't be nice about it.
