Social MAGA 2025 Civil war incoming! Vivek Ramaswamy Betrays Base & reveals true colors, Says Americans SUCK !!

Sure or in other words reduces the cost of labor inputs bringing prices down for everyone.
Brings the costs down by paying people less, which reduces the negotiating power of labor.

Besides I'm all for higher taxes to fund social programs. More growth means more tax revenue for more robust social programs. Win-win-win.
Cool, so you're in favor of massive tax hikes on the wealthy then, presumably?

Well you'll certainly need those social problems for the millions of Americans that are now unemployed because of companies taking the cheaper foreign labour option.
Yeah. We've seen this play out. It sounds like he's talking about trickle down economics.

"Tech employees are paid enough"

Feels like Tech CEOs are paid enough. Those engineers should be paid like NFL players lol

We're at full employment right now. Of course if we have an economic crisis then you adjust accordingly but we're not in an economic crisis.

Labor is in as strong a position as it's been in decades and that's on the heels of an immigration boom in the post-pandemic period.

Not just on the wealthy but yeah them too. Some taxes are better than others though. Ideally we should cut income tax for most housrholds in favor of a land value tax. Land speculators and slumlords get hit the hardest in such a scheme which is good because we want to discourage that. More productive land owners end up coughing up their fair share too.

Except I'm advocating for the "trickle down" to come in the form of tax funded social programs ya goober.

Define full employment. There's asterisks to that too.

You sidestepped what I said and what I was alluding to.

I say we put the upper tax rates at above 90% as they were during America's economic golden age. Tax billionaires out of existence this time though. Remove money from politics too so someone like Musk can't buy off the government to rig things in his favor.

Companies are fueled by profit motive, that's why jobs get outsourced. People who will work for cheaper depress wages and labor power. Musk isn't making the moves he's making to benefit the working class and they are not looking at bolstering social programs.

Labor unions were bolstered under the Biden administration, well, after he fucked over the rail workers.

Take over a trillion dollars out of their collective net worth and they'd all still be billionaires. Seems like some cost that could be cut!

Interesting. I'm actually watching a video about Elon (Thunderfoot, 8 month old video) and the 50 billion dollar bonus he asked for this year is 5x more than all 100,000 or so Tesla employees make combined and 50x more than the 10,000 people they laid off to save money. That bonus is equivalent to him receiving about $10,000 per every vehicle Tesla has ever made.

5% unemployment or lower is considered full employment.

I didn't sidestep anything, I answered your question directly. I'm in favor of taxes on the wealthy but some taxes are better than others.

Sure, companies want cheaper inputs. Not a bad thing in and of itself.

"Inputs" are human beings dude.

This is a funny statement on its surface. Trump has promised a lot of things and there are multiple stories about him not following through with his "promises". The statement cash is king in Trump's world is funny to me seeing how he's filed for bankruptcy multiple times.
He fails repeatedly but that explains a lot about him. He's like the guy trying to sell sand in a desert. He still through his connections with Saudis an Russians he always has a place to get cash. He sold his worlds biggest private yacht at the time to a Saudi in the 90's. He sold as of 2004 the most expensive property in Florida for 125 million to a Russian who never moved into the house an still paying taxes on the property.

Let's see how many we can build before Jan 6's lol. Terminators be coming in hot. Take the plastic shell off of it lol. What would it look like ha ha.

Ok. But don’t tell me it’s not being abused. H2B for farming and other sectors is fine. Billionaires saying they can’t afford to pay seasonal low skill local workers is a cop out. Pay people more and they’ll do it.

I wonder why none of this was brought up before the election.

Anyways. Will be fun to watch this play out.
Putting aside most Americans just do not want this work and those in low pay category can make more standing around McDonalds, you do not seem to realize that this world has competition.

If you pay americans the rates needed to pick fruit and vegetables, the costs soar. And we know how magats feel about price inflation.

When those prices soar, then other countries produce gets purchased and our farms are lost or they have to be subsidized.

And play that out. You raise labor rates enough that now Americans are begrudgingly returning to the farm fields and to doing all the jobs in hospitality, like at Trump resorts, how much do you raise the pay at McDonalds, etc to get people who would typically not work at McDonalds to now consider it?

Pay is determined by supply and demand and if you are saying there is low supply, then it seems they are underpaid, if anything.

And if you think tech is overpaid and cushy, then certainly that should drive more American STEM talent into the industry.

Instead, the gameplan has been to stop hiring jr-mid tier devs who develop into great engineers and architects, and rather furlough the expensive talent, and outsource hiring to reduce labor costs down and improve stock performance.

It seems you want government to generally prioritize companies through legislation, but I want the government to generally favor the employees, especially at this stage of capitalism.
Ahhh so you assume if the top STEM jobs are not being filled by Americans it is because historically STEM just has not paid enough. Pay more and more Americans will be enticed in.

What about the role of skill and education? Do you not think that only a certain percent of population can meet the qualifications to do these jobs and thus why they need to poach top talent from other countries.

As the example has been given, why do you not think that every top Sport position in the major Leagues is not filled by Americans? Do you think they just need to pay more and they would be? Or do you recognize that there are limited people who obtain those top skills and thus if you want to build the best teams (corporate or sport) you will need to recruit the best internationally as well?
