I think it's better that the pro-immigrant argument in the GOP wins out over the anti-immigrant even if it doesn't lead to ideal policy.

Trump likes to skirt Congressional authority when he can and I wouldn't be surprised if that works to Elon's favor.

One of the core planks of Trump's platforms was to expand executive authority and the concentrate power directly in the presidency so that he can bypass Congressional authority and undermine the independence of the executive agencies.

Again, let's see how it goes. I can't obviously say definitively that elon won't influence Trump. But on increasing immigrants that add value Im also ok with. Predicting what will happen is impossible at this point.

Calling harsh worker exploitation "not ideal policy" is a bit of a stretch. I get what you're saying, but maybe the MAGA demographic having to pick their own strawberries for $6/hr might teach them what they've been ok with under guys like Reagan.
