Yeah it's not so much that Americans are lazy as much as they want to do other jobs. That they don't want to pick fruits and work in construction shouldn't be hard to explain but even with tech it makes sense. Not everyone wants their kids to be STEM drones like Indian parents do.

STEM fields are not for everyone. Most people don’t go into them simply because they are not capable of the work required. As an American STEM drone H1Bs are definitely used to suppress wages for those positions. I understand it’s a balancing act between finding enough qualified people to fill these positions and undercutting wages of these sought after people.
