Well... effectiveness is a different issue especially when it comes to the DOD etc. He mentioned that he was already sent a letter saying he's in violation by not hiring enough immigrant labor at spacex. He said he can't as they have access to national security stuff like rocket technology etc. So it's already starting and hes having to pay lawyers to take care of it.. Will see....

Unless you think a 2nd Donald Trump presidency is the sign of a healthy America, you can miss me with the optimism according to some economists graph.

Economic metrics are important but they aren’t the only thing, and I’m tired of people saying everything is great because of some graph when it isn’t. Yes, the economy is fantastic right now except nobody can afford a house or car.

"Deaths of despair" is a dumb, fake category. Divorce rates have also been falling a lot in America. I agree that if you ignore all the numbers that tell you about how well America is doing, you can convince yourself that it's bad, but I don't see any good reason to do that.

And actually yes on the last point. I think voting for a buffoon for entertainment purposes is a kind of luxury move by a lot of Americans. Compare to 2008 and 2020, when we were truly struggling. People had to get serious.
