Movies MAD MAX: FURY ROAD (Dragonlord's Review)

IMAX is already 70mm wide, but I'm guessing you mean to inflate a 70mm wide picture to the width of IMAX, and then stretch the length accordingly so it's both IMAX tall and then ultra widewidewide onscreen. There's just a lot that could go wrong with filming all of that.

I'm reading up on IMAX and there's a 180 DOME that might be more feasible.

I believe IMAX is in the neighborhood of 8K. 4K/8K is digital resolution, film is different. If you've seen an IMAX movie that was filmed in IMAX, yeah it's pretty stunning. I can only imagine digital is gonna get better too, and it'll be tack-sharp focus from the smallest iWatch to the hugest mother joke you can imagine.

Yeah, that's what I would be interested to see. What would watching a film be like that was both legitimate IMAX tall and ultra widewidewide onscreen? Say a theater built a screen large enough accomidate such a film, it seems like it would be the greatest thing ever. (What would the problems be)

I'd probably be seated next to Black people, given my luck.

Mad Max - Fury Road - OVERRATED?

Last night I was watching a few movies on my DVR to free up space and one was Mad Max that just recently showed up on one of the movie channels. I had high hopes for this because of the ratings and the actor and man IMHO it sucked!

Overrated (as fuck) = The Force Awakens.

BUT IT HAS A STRONG FEMALE LEAD

what was cool was it sorta gave me T2 vibe

male female lead/Sarah Connor, T600/ Furiousa, Max

Sarah Connor/Furiousa; strong personality

T600/Max; very little dialogue with actions commanding the screen

Both had differences at first to end up working together to protecting (John Connor, Wives) and trying to flee bad guy/ T-1000, Immorten Joe

None of the films in the series were as good as the first one, they kind of spun off on a different direction than that one was really. Fury Road was an ok film, wasn't anything special about it but it didn't suck either. My .02

It is a movie that is much better when watched in the theaters.

Best movie I've seen in a long time.

People who say there was no story are dummies. Fury Road created one the most complete, immersive world's there's ever been on film. It's ability to convey belief systems and character motivation with minimal dialogue was masterful.

Best action movie of the decade.

Legit 5 outta 10 movie. Looks awesome, opening is promising, sound effects are good, visuals are okay. Plot is utter shit, dialog makes George Lucas scripts look like a Quentin Taratino script, seriously, it's like it was wrote by a kid in 9th grade. Despite the 100s of plot holes and explainables, once they get back to Immortal Joe's water hole BS at the end, why wouldn't they find a better way to give people water. If you have hardly any water, why would you create the least efficient way to distribute the water??? Retarded. Same goes with the gas. If gas is extremely limited, why the fuck are you driving around in the least efficient cars known to man. 18 wheeler in the desert? GTFOutta here. If it didn't look cool and sound great on a 7.2 system, it'd be a 1 outta 10. Mad Max makes Water World look like a masterpiece.

More efficient way to carry a tankard full of water than using an 18 wheeler? 30 small cars? Priuses? Trains?

Wtf...the apocalypse happened in the 70s, what are they supposed to drive?

This isn't Cuba where they can just get new Chinese cars.

I didn't like it, and I really didn't get why everyone was raving about it. But I guess it's just one of those movies that you fucking love or just think it's mediocre.

Care chase was cool and effects/stunts were great, but there really wasn't much beyond that.

I enjoyed it.

idgaf if whoever think's it's overrated or underrated.

Can regulars not make polls anymore?

Great action movie. Plot holes but what's new with far fetched futuristic post-apocalyptic films.

There's always contrarians looking to sound smart and looking for similar weak-minded fools to share their opinions.

The movie succeeds at everything it tries to do.
I feel like the people who don't like it are looking for it to be all things to all people but it isn't.
It's a masterpiece of action though, cinematography, creativity in its world building and thats extremely difficult thing to do. It also manages to bring the feels on a few occasions without a lot of dialogue, which is impressive.

People have their opinions, you can like it or hate it but I can't agree with the person who said it isn't anything special. It's a very special movie inthink....what other movies are like it?

Any chance of Oscars for this movie?
I think it could get visual effects, personally I hope George miller gets best director.
