Reminds me of what TGF said last year about those that watch a very-hyped movie many months after its release are sometimes disappointed. Or something like that.

Did you watch it on HBO?
No biggie. Maybe it'll grow on you after repeated viewings in the future. That is very true, but with this I don't see it. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it. It just didn't light my world on fire.
Nothing sinister, I assure you.
Reminds me of that article Dragon brought up with Tarantino lamenting Aronofsky's decision to optimize his films for iPhone. I wonder what's the visual story that NAILS it across any platform? Barring animation, I think. Animation's too easy. What resonates equally on the large, small, and truncated screens?![]()
I love the cinematography, and normally I'm not a devout Roger Deakins fan. I have heard a complaints about the end; I have to admit it kinda turns into ROAD HOUSE a little bit. Which is fine. Right? I mean come on. ROAD HOUSE? Get out of here.sicaroo
See I'm the opposite. I think a movie needs dat big black ... theater. It's the best bet for marshaling focus entirely on the screen, which should fill up the eyeballs as the sound should ears. Distractions are limited. You've put money on the line, so you want a return on your investment.Personally, I think that's a sign of a weak movie, if it only works when relying on the big screen like a crutch.
