Lets see. Mad max is on the road and is captured
furiosa is tired of the life and kidnaps 5 sexy sex slaves
immortan joe is a ruler hell bent on getting his fuck on
immortan joe teams up with the other warlords to recover them
fury wants to go to the green land
max is caught in the middle because hes a blood bag
a blood bag is needed because the war boys are diseased and die early

oh shit theres alot of story and im skipping alot

Ill keep going

max is put in another situation where he has to team with furiosa in order to battle a common enemy

oh the guitar guy is awesome. not much story on him in the movie but there is a back story.

now as max and furiosa team up, war boy thats chasing them fails at the one thing he needs to do in this world. Meeting with the beautiful wenches war boy realizes that he needs to redeem himself and joins max

The thing that strikes me as odd about you, is this is an action film at heart. What fucking kind of story do you want? I mean does it matter if theres not some crazy plots and twists or more talking as long as the movie is well made and entertaining. A plot being coherent is better than...fuck idk whatever you were expecting. It was nominated for best picture of the year for Christs sake.

I mean you should really see that youre in the minority here and maybe need another watch of a modern day classic and if you wont watch it Ill watch it again for you.

Rumor: MAD MAX: FURY ROAD Prequel to Be in Development

tumblr_nsmqgdx9801r4z8l1o2_500.gif

Australia’s Herald-Sun claims that pre-production on Mad Max: The Wasteland is well underway and looking to film in the Broken Green area of the Outback. Additionally, they say the film will focus on the backstory of Theron’s character, Imperator Furiosa.

Outside of the news article, there’s been no confirmation or talk regarding a possible prequel coming from either Miller’s camp or Warner Bros. Pictures.

Regarding the location of Broken Hill, Dark Horizons points out that the area is generally barren and the original plan was to film Fury Road there. However, unforeseen rains flood the location making it green and fertile – something that obviously wouldn’t fit into the dusty, barren landscape Miller needed for his movie – so filming was moved to nearby Namibia.

Now that Broken Hill is once again a dry, dusty landscape, it’s entirely possible that Miller wants to take advantage of this environment for The Wasteland, lest he once again misses out on shooting there. That definitely adds a sense of plausibility to this current rumor.

a mad max story with out max? ehhhh

I'm on board with this.

Mad Max is a sexist misogynistic dinosaur. We need less men in the sequel, and more women who are in touch with their feelings.

In fact, they should just get rid of Max altogether. Reboot the franchise as Max Maxine. I think it could prove to be a massively successful franchise like the Ghostbusters reboot will prove to be.

Come at me, you cisgendered fucks.

What..... The..... Fuck.....

There is no story. You talking about how beautiful and unique it was tells me that's not really a primary concern for you. Different generations I guess.

There was a story. It was lean, efficient, and told well.

If a lot of people are saying it's the best action movie they have ever seen, maybe it is. I know Terminator 2 gets a lot of love here, but I just can't sit through Edward Furlong again.

And they shouldnt be driving cars, they should be riding bicycles.

I didn't think it was as good as it was hyped up to be on the first watch(never seen it in the cinema's) but then i re-watched it a few days later and then all of a sudden i was watching it for the 4th time or so within a week. i still don't think it's the best action movie though.

It sucks so much that the movie was made a few years ago. could you imagine if the movie only started development now? Gibson appears to be having his renaissance and we could have had him back as Max. if that happened, I'd say without a doubt that it'd be the best action movie EVAH!.

If the story is gonna be centered around furiousa, shouldnt the title be something else? Furiousa: wasteland?

Plus. Id like to see more adventures of max.

And lol I wonder why people even bother posting in movie threads they really arent supportive or fan of?

Bruh, this movie is a show don't tell type of movie. Very little dialogue with pieces that force the viewer to think and put together based on what is presented on screen.

It isn't simple for the casual viewer and it isnt for everyone.

On the surface, most ppl will see cars chasing eachother, and bunch of weird people in a post apocalyptic setting.

But there's alot of depth too it. At the end of the day if you didnt enjoy it, there are plenty of movies out there anyhow.

1. Movie making has gotten so bad that people have forgotten that action movies are still supposed to have a story to them.

2. OMG, it was nominated for best picture?! I shall now reconsider my point because Terminator 2 wasn't even nominated. Therefore it must be better, right?

Cool "story" bro.

So I watched The Revenant last night. I dont' get how MM:FR gets shit for 'not having a plot', but no one says the same for TR. All Leo does throughout the whole movie is grunt and writhe in pain. Yes, I know there is a plot, but like MM:FR, the movie doesn't beat you over the head with it. It just is.

The Revenant eats about as much shit as MM:FR. That being, not much at all. Don't let opinions like mine and a few others on MM:FR distract you from the fact of it being one of the most widely celebrated action movies in recent memory.

Agreed on The Revenant.

"Lean"? Is that like saying a fat person just has a calorie surplus?

The whole debate of story or lack thereof is weird to me. Why does being more blatantly deep or complex make a movie better??

To me, it's like food. It's cool when people make these elaborate dishes with fancy ingredients, but man, sometimes all a main course needs to be is a simple pan-seared steak, mid-rare, salt, pepper, butter and it can be one of the greatest meals someone has ever had.

One long action scene isn't simple for the casual viewer to follow?

Only thing that would have made FR more perfect would have been Mel Gibson playing Mad Max. Watch him in Blood Father, he still has it.
